I will look to see about a link but someone just moved on a super clean wide ribbon borso that was a size 7 1/2 for peanuts....think the price was around $100.00 plus shipping, clean hat no issues. Got to think it was someone here,.,.it did not last long on eBay at all...

The 2 3/8” brim was just a bit too narrow for me or I would have bought it. The seller has several similar sized hats for sale, but none them are really my style.

Stupid me, I was looking at it thinking someone here would love it, was going to make the purchase and then I was making some coffee, came back online and it was sold! LOL

I was still contemplating it. It would have been a done deal if the brim was wider, but even at 2 3/8” it was a sore temptation. Someone got a very nice hat.

Them tweeners are tough to pass on but I have decided that one MUST draw the line somewhere and for me 2 1/2" is the line in the sand. Nice hat though.

Same here. They’re a temptation, but I’m with you that 2 1/2 inches is my minimum... unless it’s really a steal.

That lot of 10 wooden hat blocks plus the misc items went for $200. A pretty decent deal for a complete set of blocks......but then the cost of the flanges is the real killer.

The same seller had 11 blocks...all 5 3/4” tall and all the way up to 7 7/8! $510 plus $100 shipping seemed reasonable as the blocks looked to be in excellent condition.

I have to side with many of those above that 2-1/2 is as small as I will go. Though, I will admit that a 2-3/8 brim with a ribbon bound edge has the illusion of 2-/1/2 inches, especially if the crown is a bit short.

I have to copp to owning 2 hats that I really like. One is vintage and the other is a custom that I commissioned.....both are tall crowned hats with 2 1/4" brim designed to NOT snap down. I think the narrower brim gives them a more casual look and definitely not a classic fedora look. However, owning the two is my max and I will not be adding any of these 'stingy' brims to the collection.

Oh well, they don't eat very much. My guess is a Stetson with the department store logo in the liner?

I think the very same thing,..you have to wonder when finding old items like this or other vintage items some of which have never ever been used nor worn...where have they been? Who had them? And the hardest thing about it all,..how good the condition is...imagine a modern pair of shoes made today as cheap as they are mostly made...70 years from now or a hat made in the factory.....I about bet they would fall apart by mere handling.

And the hardest thing about it all,..how good the condition is...imagine a modern pair of shoes made today as cheap as they are mostly made...70 years from now or a hat made in the factory.....I about bet they would fall apart by mere handling.

My first thought when you find something in near perfect condition after 100 years is always "where the heck have you been all this time?"
