I swear, there is someone in these shipping companies whose job is to damage boxes.
The hat was OK inside the box. I just thought it was pretty funny.

Ha, I do too. Woozie.Nice weave pattern. I get vertigo looking at it, but that wouldn’t be a problem when wearing it.

That is beautiful, what a great score!Well, that didn't take long. Making up for lost time it seems. Stepping out of my comfort zone and took a leap of faith on this straw:

Exchanged a few messages with the seller earlier in the day. Was prepared to walk away as they wouldn't budge on price, but after digging up some history associated with the hatter I decided to take the plunge. I'm a sucker for a story.
Good grieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefffffffffffffffffffffffff.
That is just too cool!I almost wish I still smoked.

If ever there was the perfect time to post a hat...you nailed it Bob.My Uncle had a version of that on his fishing hat. Not as cool as the "factory" option though.
I made an offer.[emoji4]I almost wish I still smoked.

I just bought this one for $40.
The seller says it's Mohair, and I looked it up. Wikipedia says it's made from the hair of an Angora goat. It looks nice, and Ignacio can easily replace or repair the sweatband and the ribbon.
Does anyone know if Mohair is rough, like wool? I have no idea.

I did, Daniel. I posted it above. [emoji4]Anybody buy this beauty? I am pretty sure the liner is not original, obviously the sweat is not either, but it’s a sweet win for the person who won it!

Yep! I will. So you were one of the slowpokes, and Daniel might have been the other...Saw it, wanted to buy it, but the details just weren't adding up. I had sent the seller a message asking for several clarifications but he never responded. Probably because you bought it in the interim.
I seriously considered buying it just for the body because I don't think it's mohair. The only visible part with Stetson branding is the liner, and it almost looks too pristine. The sweatband looks to be a replacement because I didn't see any pictures with Stetson branding/embossments. It was also sewn at the back seam, which wouldn't jive with his 20s description. Too many unknowns for me to take a chance, especially since I just bought a couple hats this past week.
That being said, if the felt body turns out to be vintage longhair it's still a darn good price even with a refurb. Please let me know the details when you get this.

The seller said some slowpokes were wasting time inquiring about the tags behind the sweatbands, and that I beat them just in time. Were you one of them?[emoji51]
