FEPSA is not helping me as they do not have in stock felts in CX block and the best they can do for me now is 4.5" brim in C block. I've been wanting a 5" brim in a light color even if I had to make it. I have too many hats (I didn't see that coming) and I shouldn't be buying more hats, but this one appeared "from the wild", my head size, my brim size, my crown height and... for less than $100. Those appear from time to time and never go for less than $100 (the ones I find and track) so I had to jump in and loose the love of $20 (that was the difference between first bid and buy it now) and buy it now before someone did the same or see the bid raise beyond $150 or more. As it uses ebay's GSP, import taxes are $22 (I would pay more in Portuguese Customs) and it should be here in 15 days.
I know it's modern, not vintage as the ones Alan's shows (that makes my envy grows), but hell, it's a Stetson Tom Mix in silverbelly!

Yeah, that is really cool, love the colour combo too.

I don't think I could pull it off, but you can Joao. Looking forward to seeing you wearing it.

Thank you all for the nice words. As you all know I have a Tom Mix in black and I think this one is a nice addition.
My 5" brim "collection" goes with a Black Tom Mix, a black Big Country, a brown Big Country and now this Tom Mix. :D

We have one of those hats on display at one of our stores. It really is a BIG hat!!
My sister saw me with my black Tom Mix. She said it is huge and makes me look creepy like a wizard. Halloween is coming but I don't want to ruin it, it's a too much nice hat for costumes.

Demon Hanover's Daddy from Hoyt (Harness Horse) Hat Co. Hambletonian 10

The Demon Hanover by Hoyt hat company is well known but seldom seen mid-Century hat.

A difficult item to find. I have seen ten or fewer these last ten years on eBay.

Now comes The Habletonian 10 by Hoyt Hat Co. dba "The Harness Horse Hat Co.".

Except the liner, it looks like a dead ringer for the DH. This is only the second model of hat by Hoyt I have ever seen. I thought "Habletonian 10" was a price point, as with Stetson 25, 50 & so on. But come to find out that Hambletonian 10 was a founding sire of the Standardbred horse & the sire to many champs, (including DH?) and is the horse that the race (The Hambletonian Cup) is named for. In fact in 24 seasons at stud, between 1851 and 1875, Hambletonian produced about 1,335 foals. Good work if you can get it!;)

Have been hunting E Bay and Etsy for ages for a decent Borsalino Fedora or Homburg in my size to no avail, I've a pretty large head at 24" so it would need to be a 7 5/8 UK size or 62cm, even considered buying a milliners hat stretcher but didn't want to risk ruining a good hat, have swallowed my pride for now and ordered a brand new Borsalino this evening which should be with me within next few days, will keep my eyes peeled for additions as I would still like a homburg
