Eastman b3 fit pics

Hi guys !
Just got this gorgeous b3 as a present, but I'm thinking it is a bit big, and I can easily go down a size. It is size 44, I'm 5'8 180 lbs, 43 chest 36 waist .
Please let me know, if you think it is a good fit. It feels very comfortable, but I don't like sloppy looks.

I think the front zip fit looks great! I can see in the sideview the jacket looking too big around your waist. But the front/back view don't show that. How do the shoulders fit? They look like they're spot on.

I think its a bit big, looks like you have a lot of room in the waist and it seems like a lot of excess chest material gathers behind the shoulder blades when unzipped. If you live somewhere very cold and need to layer it could be fine, but I would personally want a closer fit.

I think you could go down a size or two. Perhaps whoever made it will honor an exchange. Looks like a well made top of the line B3 to me.

didn't I Just read someone hear saying correct military size and fit was a couple sizes up? you need enough room left in there for an A-2 and smokers?

Looks right to me but I Like em Roomy. for what it's worth I plan to gain weight as I get older, I still want to have a Jacket fit me for life.

Looks okay for a loose fit, possibly a touch long. What's it feel like with the straps done up, that may alleviate the room in the waist, if not it won't be that warm.

Dig it. Try taking in the side straps a bit and see how it fits with a sweater. They are a big jacket and were meant to run large to fit over other gear. If it is just going to be a tee shirt underneath I would go a size down though. Great gift... if that came from a lady friend you better have done your homework....

Helluva gift. Probably a size down would be optimal but truthfully I think it looks pretty good; I'd have a hard time exchanging it. What a great thing to have such a thoughtful person in your life.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments . It was a present from the wife and the kids, but to be honest I pitched in some money as well. I'm just amazed at the quality of the jacket, and I certainly didn't expect such a comfort level, except the cuffs, the stitching on the inside is beyond uncomfortable . I did the straps in, and it looks a bit better , but I don't think it should be like that, for it to fit normal, it is got to be on the very last hole. I do feel that there is an excess of material in the back behind shoulder blades and of course around mid section. I will have no problem returning it, the only thing is, that they do not have another size down in stock, so I will have to order it directly from Eastman . Will it fit better ? I hope so, otherwise it will be whole lot of money spent on shipping things back and forth , but for the money that this jacket worth I want to be happy with the fit.
I dont usually wear anything under, but light shirt or tshirt, so closer fit would be preferred , but I like to be comfortable

That's a very nice Shearling. I think you are making the right decision. A better fit would make it a keeper for sure.

It looks good but I personally would go for the 42. But as it is, this jacket doesn't look bad on you at all. Looks great, actually!

The jacket won't be warm if it's not tight at the bottom : Can you post some photos (front and side) with the side straps fully tightened ?

Tell you what, I watched a couple Air force films on youtube..The B-3 the one guy is wearing is pretty high up to the belt line. I'd keep the longer Jacket, The one itself in question you have on is a Keeper IMO.

The Lieutenant looks like his Jacket was a special order item, I'd rather wear whatever was issued and maybe it's a big size..better a size up than down.

If you ever see real combat footage of Crews some of those guys were wearing an oversize Jacket or two from what I have seen in movies and film reel footage.

That being said, a lot of Clothes made these days are pretty loose fitting anyway...a longer Jacket might help low rise Jeans for example. I have an original Aero B-3 that is a 46 and a bit longer than standard. I love it so much and it's still perfect a little longer. (..but *Perfect* to me...it's almost same as the one in your photos..it's original so I don't wear it around or anything) But Also I have a willis and Geiger B-3 that says 46 but it's even too long for me if I'm not totally bulked up underneath it, with nothing under it.. almost halfway down my ass. I'd probably sell it...why it's a bit larger than the original Aero 46 is strange to me, a lot of it may be the fleece is slightly shorter on the W&G B-3 Jacket?

Another good point in considering size is how much does the fleece on yours pack down after lots of wear?

if it breaks in it could be a bit bigger on you no?

Anyone have an idea about that?

One last thing, Adjust your waist buckles up a bit more to give the back end some Tuck.

Then Wear some heavier over pants, I mean like something like a lined pair of Winter trousers or heavy duty work pants with suspenders for example.

Tank crew Trousers should go nice...It's a pretty Serious cold weather utility jacket you got yourself there!!! Hot damn it's a good looking Jacket!!!

At least you got room to wear a Tucked in shirt and a couple layers under there easy and still be comfy.

I usually like to wear something like a pair of cargo pants with fleece liners, suspenders if I can...over a pair of Normal jeans or pants until I get where I'm going.

Now on a side note:

sometimes Low Rise Jeans royally Drive me nuts if I'm a few pounds overweight.

I have this one pair of Lucky Brand Jeans...I can't wear, so uncomfortable I lose my mind!

Looks good on you I would personally go size down. It’s all ready warm enough. No need to layer more.

I vote try a smaller size, you won't know until you try and i am pretty sure it will fit better.

I think the jacket looks amazing. Fit wise it is one size too large. The front and back shots look fine but from the profile shot, the jacket is too bell shaped. I think one size down and you'll have it dialed in perfectly.
