I have a question - what do most of you ladies use, wet or dry pin curl sets? I have the double prong clips and have tried three wet sets with them (I used Lottabody as my setting lotion), and each time they left horrible dents and were frizzy. Everything I have read has said that bobby pins leave dents and NOT the double prong clips.
So last night, I decided to try a few pin curls on my dry hair. I put in five and went to bed. In the morning, they came out really nice! I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that my hair is very fine and thin - maybe the wet hair just indents more because it is so fine?
I also noticed that in the Vintage Hairstyling book, it mentions to use the double prong clips with a gap at the hinge. The ones I have do not have a gap, which most of the ones online do not appear to have a gap, as well. I did finally find some that appear to have a gap - the Diane Slide In Clips - and I ordered some of those to try.
I would love to hear your opinions - thank you in advance!
