Double breasted suits and sportcoats with notched lapels (including 4 button, one fastened with long roll lapel). 1920s-1950s: Discuss? Photo evidence?

Useful clarification on the Fairbanks photo - my initial thought was "Wow, he can really pass!" :D Srsly, tho... It's something I would of habit tell you I don't like, but actualy it looks great on both the examples posted above....

That photo has been posted a few times here, and I confess, in my imagination the response of many a Flounge member went something like: "Ah, yes, Fairbanks, a legend of the screen and an icon of style for...Oh my God, is he wearing a double-breasted suit with notch lapels? I feel sick...open a window...I need air!"
