Does anyone know the A2 by Mil-Tec?

One concern is from the picture at the website, if you enlarge the image viewed to right of the zipper flap are some creases. i am not sure but I think that is an indication that the leather is very thin or really soft. Also it seems strange that they selected this jacket for the image unless it was the best they could pull out of the shipment.

However $80 is not a lot of money.
I'd say you need to handle it and try it on before making a decision, if possible.

Best wishes.

The ad states that it is sold out. Might not be restocked, since Sportsmens sometimes only buys lot shipments, and when they are gone, no more are to be seen.

Not sure if you are just using the link as an example but Sportsman's Guide buys a lot of dead stock, overstock & last years models. They have a good return policy & I've catalog shopped there for years. Some of their private label stuff "Guide Gear" is border-line quality.

Justed used the link as an example and I must admit that the jacket on there is not the most beautiful one I have ever seen. Here's a pic of the actual jacket:

Anything listed in the Sportsman's Guide is suspect. I wouldn't buy 99.9% of the junk they offer. I saw some of their WW2 US Webgear that ATF was blowing out. This was last year at FIG. I wouldn't buy it for my 13 year old nephew to play with.

Looks very thin. Mil-Tec I believe makes a lot of low-priced military apparel, like jackets and boots. I would assume that they are made very economically with thin leather. I see them offered a lot on German websites but have never seen one up close.

Is it a one piece back and does the jacket have a throat latch ?
If yes, then it'd make an inexpensive painter/patcher or a knock-about jacket.

Example of a throat latch (and collar stand, collar snaps) from the Acme Depot site:

Found on all legit A-2s until the current updated USAF spec (which makes a fair number of changes to the design).
