This is a recent acquisition that was intended as part of a trade deal. The hat isn’t quite as pristine as the seller made out, but before I return it I thought I’d offer it up on The Lounge.
The hat has some minor moth damage as seen in the photos. It has an appropriate open crown height of 5 1/2 inches and an underwelted brim approximately 2 3/4 inches wide. The ribbon is a three cord dress western set up. The liner is sewed in. The OPS pricing puts it between 1951 and 1953.
Personally, I’d have no problem at all wearing the hat with the light mothing, but we’re all different about such things.
