Beautiful hat Jon. I'm a brand new newby here. Can you provide more information on the hat please? Vintage, was it originally an open crown? It appears to be silverbelly. Is that correct? What determines that it is pure beaver? Sorry if these questions seem silly.

Bob the hat is from the 50s I do not know if it was originally sold open crown. The felt fells much like the felt on Stetson 50 clear beaver hats I own that are pure beaver felt. If this hat was size 7-1/4 it would not be for sale

Thanks for the reply Jon. Just noticed that you measured it at 23-1/8". I sometimes wear hats marked 7-3/8 but measure less than 7-1/4. 7-1/4 or 58 cm is my max size. Sorry to have been an inconvenience.
