Quite right, i do bust out the compact on a regular basis. My mum always said it was acceptable and alluring, just to quickly powder the nose and check the lippie, not do a full on face, that's just plain wrong!

I always wear gloves, that has some very good results with the chaps, especially if you take them off very slowly and nonchalantly. (I just re-read that, haha, i'm not talking about in the boudoir, just generally when one is out and about).

Agreed. Women nowadays think the only way to snag a man is by wearing shorter and tighter clothing, and less of it. The concept of leaving something to the imagination is well, gone.

My mom tells me putting on your lipstick anywhere other than in the bathroom with the door shut is obscene or, at best, tacky. That is what powder rooms are FOR, apparently.

It is not as high a sin as leaving your hairbrush out in the living areas, but you just don't do it.

You preferably never chew gum at all, but if you must, you must NEVER chew it while wearing lipstick.

I am going to have to find it in one of my Etiquette books from the 40's, but Miss Etiquette says it's ok to primp your lips at the table because you need to look your best. Going to have to find it for the exact quote.

I chew gum while wearing lipstick but it makes my mom terribly sad that I do, so I don't in front of her.

I have to go to the bathroom to do lipstick/powder though. I'm secretly afraid of what everyone thinks otherwise. And it smears. It just doesn't work.

My mom doesn't hate it and even admits that I'm usually fairly tasteful, but thinks its mostly a silly interest. She's of the school of thought that your "beauty regime" should be brush your teeth and if you feel like going crazy, use some cold cream. She can see even clear nailpolish or clear mascara at twenty paces.

My dad outright honest-to-G-d thinks I don't wear makeup. He said that the last time we were on the phone, which totally threw me. I generally wear at least 3 products to go outside, which I said.

He replied, "oh, you must wear it pretty well then. I haven't seen any granny blue eyeshadow or that glittery stuff the young girls like!" lol

I haven't tried them out yet but I think they'll do really well! especially if you wear them for a night, remove them then wear them again and so on. I really wish they were more pointy though

The box says they can actually stay on for up to 10 days! But I find you need A LOT LESS glue then what the instructions suggest. I want to be able to take them off at the end of the night and save them for another night and I do think I will be able to do that. They stayed on the whole night=]

Viola, I have to agree a little bit. I think that doing hair in public is very tacky, nobody should know how hard it is to make your hair do that. As far as lipstick goes though, I have a few really cute ones that I never put on, I just carry around in my purse so people can see me putting them on.
...is that tacky? I may not be the best person to listen to.

I'd love to know what MAC colors are in all of her palettes!
