Ignored BT's advice...

Sorry, my friend, but for some reason this baby just HAD to be mine! (Holes and all!)

I think you did just fine but you can still keep looking...
...now that your interest has been piqued.

I've definitely got the denim bug!

Hey, Feraud >> What's your guesstimate on the time period of the SR?

Oh man do I LOVE this one...

Probably be the last one of these that I can afford for a while:

Wrangler Blue Bell, Selvidge Denim, 1950s (likely), Talon steel zipper.

Thanks, BT for looking this one over for me and signalling a thumbs-up!

My old faithful Wrangler. Not sure of age, if anybody has an idea it would be appreciated :)

Just arrived...

Better than I expected. VERY heavy weight denim. Uniform fading (very light). No hidden flaws.

Terrific fit in shoulders, sleeves. A little tight in the chest and waist, but that's my fault and not the jacket's!

My favorite details are the action-back and the folded over pleat on the front that's tacked down with little round stitches.

All-in-all, I am VERY pleased!

Zemke that Wrangler jacket is a beaut.

Here's a jacket that took my eye & I've just picked up on eBay for $12.50. Not one of the three big names & not true vintage. Nevertheless selvedge denim in a vintage style & IMO too good to miss at the price, both the Seller & I being in the UK so cheap postage & no Customs complications.

Still think it's a beaut despite you being in it lol. Seriously though the fit is spot on for my taste. Also I see your a fan of the turned back cuff as I am. See my Lee Rider jacket in post 14 of this thread. Thanks for sharing this particular jacket. I've never been a fan of Wrangler but you have converted me.

Picked up this Storm Rider at a local thrift shop today, looks like it was never worn. My size too!

I love everything about this jacket, from the name and collar to the blanket lining and slanted pockets. Definitely a keeper.

One Too Many
local effort

Got to fly the flag here for the classic 60's/70's Australian denim label AMCO, great jeans and jackets, they went OOB early 80's I think, and were re-launched a few years ago with the usual Made-in-china thing happening, but when I was a kid we all wore these jackets because they were cheaper than the US imports or locally made US labels, and they stand the test of time as you see...I have a few beat-up ones but this example is still good as new.

ahhhh.... takes me back to my younger day. I really liked the look in those days. I am not sure my better half would stand for it these days......

Anyone else a fan of vintage denim jackets? Anyone have anything from the 1960s or 1950s? Mine aren't that old.
