Denim Jackets - New or Vintage

That’s it exactly! I was wondering the other day when I put on my IH overdye type 3 why the damn thing came down so low that it covered my back pockets almost entirely. I thought to myself that even the lowest of low rise jeans aren’t down there, that would be indecent exposure! The untucked shirt theory is spot on. It’s unfortunate too because every time I put on that jacket I get caught up on the length and end up taking it right back off.
I think they are cut that long to minimize the ridiculously long UHF flannels, which are something like 30" long. It's my one gripe about my 23oz IH type III and I've come dangerously close to throwing it in the dryer. The IH CR is a far better length.

Re. Type 3 length, Iron Heart started out right. Looking at the measurements, earlier IH's were all shorter. The 21oz Type 3 w/o side pockets size 42 was like 24" back. Same with Lee style. The first run of the modified Type 3 was also under 25" length but when they restocked it, I noticed that all the jackes became longer. It's the demand I guess but I still say that the Type 3 gets ruined if made too long.

As from slim fitting jeans, having bought a pair from the Iron Heart's so called Super Slim line, I definitely have found my pair of jeans and I'm never going back to anything else, ever. Best part, I no longer need a belt. Which I think I actually strongly dislike.
But yeah, highly recommended.

I've got a couple of (terrible quality!) fit pics here of my Type II. I'm honestly ashamed of the state of my phone photos, but I suppose any picture is better than no picture.

I grabbed these today as I was trying on some trousers in a shop, which accounts for that. Also, as it's cold today (about 3°C this morning) I've got a chunky sweater underneath it - which equally shows that my complaints about the snugness of the fit are just so much needless crying.

And now I'm home again, I'm editing in a further picture from today (again terrible, soz) with the jacket over just a plain old t.

If I stand up as straight as I can at my full height, when the jacket's open the front hem hits halfway over my belt. I'm becoming more convinced that this seems "right".

Double denim day type2 and double knee post wash and fully 5 hrs+ misserable wet to dry wearing (lesson learned quilted anything takes eternity and some to fully dry, dont practice wet to dry wearing way in rainy day)

Before i own one, i thought from pictures denim jacket collar would be easily misshapen crumply and messy after awhile, but so far I love all the collars on mine after a year wearing them, and very easy to shape... now I wonder how in lots of photos they can look that misshapen maybe it is purposefully crushed while damp to make it look "worn"

Vintage Lee Storm Rider just came in. I like the fit a lot. They sure did make these shorter back in the day though, which is a welcome discovery since I find most jackets sold these days are overly long. This is tagged a 42L and it comes to just about where I like a slim fit jacket like this to sit: just below my belt line.
