That reminds me. Wasn't there a similar pure white jacket from another seller that went quasi viral here on the Lounge just last year? I recall missing out by a whisker on one. I think Fletch scored one quite successfully.

Sorry it's not working out, guys.

Would you mind taking a few photos (inside particularly) of the jacket? I'm just curious about the quality of make. Of course fit is always a wild card with OTR, though the practice of sewing working buttonholes on OTR is baffling to me. That's a $50+ fix to shorten sleeves from the shoulder and if you don't have a good tailor......

No apology necessary, I think we all realize online ordering is a crapshoot - in this case the discount was certainly worth taking a chance. I too, am baffled by working cuff buttons on this item. I'll take some detail photos tomorrow, I have a bunch of things I was planning to shoot anyway and it's about time to get caught up, stay tuned....

ARRRRGH,
I got mine today, but it is to small for me to wear. I take a 50 jacket, so I ordered the XXL (50-52), however it fits like a >46. The arms were the right size, but they should have been long so that you could have them fitted. Despite the size, the material and cut of the jacket look fine. If it was available in a size or two bigger I may have done an exchange, as it is I will have to return it. It is a great jacket at a great price, but the sizing is too far off to keep it. I'm disappointed, but when you buy clearance items these are the chances you take.

Some pictures of the Crittenden Linen jacket in tan, size XL:
The build quality is better than I realized before - the interior piping is nice, and notice the almost completely hidden zipper giving access to interior pockets behind the lower patch pockets. I sent them back already, so am withdrawing the sale offer I made earlier.

I ordered a couple, they just came in today. I will post some photos soon. I am a 44 and the L fits well, though the sleeves are a tad long (and I have long arms!).

Unfortunately, while there is that "Jim Cobertt/White Mischief/linen adventure jacket" mystique about it:

There is also more than a hint of "Ted Lapidus/Don Dunston/Indian bureaucrat/1970s safari suit" about it as well...

As promised photos.

Not sure if I'll keep any. Perhaps the twill and maybe the brown linen for that chance in the future I want to put together an early 20th century warm weather hunting outfit.

Tomasso thanks! They fit me well in the Large, its not quite my style for town wear, but as I mentioned earlier I might keep one or two for country wear.

PS: Also thanks for the heads up with your original post, very much appreciated!

That bottom photo is of the famous Don Dunstan a former Premier of South Australia in the 70s (RIP). He was the first hip polly to desport a safari suit on official occasions...a friend of mine is writing a book on him some time.

I wore the twill one today with a colonial inspired ensemble for a vintage train ride.

I have to say it fits very well, nice and cool, and the the action back works very well. It also looks better with the right kit... Thanks again for the heads up Tomasso!

I bought the blue linen. It is a very nice jacket and seemed to be the best bargin ever. Sadly, as others have said, it was just too long for my 5'9" height and so I reluctantly returned it. My below the collar seam measurement of the jacket was 34", which is surely a long. Bummer.

My hat is off to Mr. Tomasso for putting us onto this serious bargin. I hope he will keep us posted if other opportunities come up.
