Art Deco inspired, came across these at the Great Gatsby gig. You should see this place, here's a taster:



Duelling pistols, every married couple needs a pair.

A very early, (in our married life) gift from my missus. We are both Pisceans.

Remember the saxophonist? He loved these chefs hats, so I treated him to a pair, he always wears them if he knows that we have booked a table. And more often than not, I will wear mine.

These were a very special surprise gift. My wife loves burlesque, she feels too old to be a performer, so she gets involved by styling the burlesque girls hair in period style. On one occasion when a performer arrived late for the show, we filled in with a sultry, raunchy if I'm honest, slow Rumba. The audience seemed to like it, and the performer still managed to do her act, albeit a tad late. The cuff links are corsets.

All these have a story too, but as my collection has gathered over a period of sixty five years, I need to put my thinking cap on to remember their story.
When I've done that, I will have a look through these, some have a great tale to tell.

Sometimes, back in the day before instant technology, you wanted to wear a watch but you didn't want it obtrusive.

Did I say I was Rugby Football mad?

I picked these up at the gift shop at Duxford on the day of our pleasure flight in a De Havilland Dragon Rapide. That was some day.



More Art Deco, they look fabulous with a spearpoint shirt.

The gold is tarnished, they were bought long before I had a shekel or two in my pocket, but I love them, perfect with a classic tux.

Another bespoke pair, these are pre-decimal currency. The sixpence, at the time, was the ubiquitous coin. It went into pay phones, vending machines, practically everything except the public toilets, that was still a penny.

Treble clef, a gift from a very talented man.

When I'm not on the terraces at Twickenham, you will find me following "The Saints."

A gambler, I am not. There's only one winner at gambling and it's not the punter.

These three sets are all burlesque related. The first is the bullet bra, the second is the famous pose of Marilyn Monroe. The third is now just a souvenir. I took them off one night after getting rather warm, I removed my jacket, took the cufflinks out and rolled my sleeves back. The cufflinks went missing, later my wife found one of them in the street.

These are either gifts or purchases that the grey cells cannot recall. But just like the stacks of records, books and a host of paraphernalia, I could never part with them.

Cuff links and tie pins are a popular combination, but I have something a little more different. If I take my old MG out to a show or event, and if I decide to wear a shirt with cuff links, there can only be one choice. These, that my missus had made for me, and what would be different from a tie pin? How about an MG hat pin?
