CSULB - looking for a well dressed fellow on campus.

Hate to make a whole thread on this but twice now I've seen a guy on campus (CSULB) dressed in a fedora and what looks like a vintage suite (this is a far off observation from an office) who just caught my eye a few times. I'm just a little curious if it happens to be someone on here. I'm going to try to get to him next time.

For everyone, how often do you guys run into someone you don't know in a nice hat? Dressed vintage?

I live in Long Beach, Trimen, but since I'm not on the university's campus, I haven't run into that gent yet. If I did, though, I'd simply open the conversation with a compliment on his fedora, maybe asking if it was vintage and who the maker was. Always cool to see someone with that kind of style...glad to hear it's happening in town. If you frequent the antique stores on 4th Street, you may run into others like him...

In a nice hat? A few times. Dressed in a vintage suit? Never. I'm usually the only one wearing a suit, none the less a vintage suit. For those who have worn a suit with me, it's usually modern.

The funny thing is you can usually save more money with a vintage suit (admittedly I have an aunt that does my tailoring for free so that helps), compared to what you would pay for a high end newer models, plus you have the nostalgic class that comes with a vintage suit.

Trimen1000, PLEASE redo the title and explain what CSULB is, and specifically that you are looking for someone. This title is not going to get you the responses you are looking for.

California State University Long Beach?

Seems to me this fellow might be easier to find if something was posted at a central location(s) on campus.

You might want to keep a camera handy and try to snap a picture(s) the next time you spot this elusive sartorialist.

Ah, you left coasters think California is the whole world, don't you? ;) lol
I was able to ask my co-worker, who's originally from Gardena, what CSULB was, and he told me. Here's a thought: maybe it's one of those famous Queen Mary ghosts, taking his morning constitutional.

Well put it this way....if the guy -was- here......he would recognize the acronym and reveal himself. ;)

But yes...in general people should actually -specify- where they are talking about...but that's my pet peeve for the Events section...

If I only read catchy thread titles that were in my area....I would see

NYC, 5-15-09: Club night at wherever... and click...

But

Joes Big Band is playing

I probably wouldn't click...just because the chances its in -my- area.....

ok..rant over ;)

Well, like Neecerie said on the first line the guy would recognize it. I guess that was originally the sole intention of the post, the guy would recognize it and be attracted by it for obvious reasons and respond, everyone else wouldn't. I kinda added the last line for others who would click on it so that they may actually have something to say and it wouldn't be a waste of time.

I agree I probably should have posted it in the locations section, so if someone would be kind enough to move the thread, that would be nice.

Scotrace: It'll get exactly the response I'm looking for.

That may well be, but experience with the forums tells me you're better off being a little more specific. I've edited the title. Remember that we as Bartenders are always thinking about the ease of future searches based on what is contained in a title.
