I rather like this
Traditional, Off White, Long Sleeved Cricket Sweater now ordered, just awaiting for delivery, will be very useful as it's gone cold again.
Here you go Dav (and other enthusiasts of the gentleman's game), I started a cricket thread in the Observation Bar:

Please feel free to post anything cricket in there. I'm sure there's a few FLers who enjoy the game. And what with the Ashes on at the mo, there's a bit to talk about.
Well as the cricket season is now about to come upon us, I'll be wearing my cricket sweaters again, it will be good to get them out again.
Nice knit dresses ;-)
Well done to the England Cricket Team for their recent win in the Ashes tournament.)
(Mind you, I do hope that for future matches they will revert to wearing the proper traditional off white/cream wool cable cricket sweaters again. I Noticed the Australians were still wearing their proper cricket pullovers.)
Saying that, I reckon wearing a jumper isn't as "serious" as wearing a regimental or old school tie, and I think you're safe from cricketing questioning in Germany!
Gentlemen, I Have just seen some cricket sweaters for sale, but instead of the traditional ones which are off-white with coloured trim around waist, neck & arms, the main colours are plain red or green or blue with white trims. Does anyone think that is a good look updating a very old traditional design, or that these classic garments should remain unchanged. Rgds Steve.
There must be a renaissance in cricket sweaters at the moment. I was wearing mine yesterday and saw four other chaps wearing these when I was travelling around the Southeast.
I find cricket.... tolerable. I am passionate in my hatred of most all sport, but cricket remains one of the few that is inoffensive. It politely goes on.... over there, somewhere, and doesn't force itself in my face, or demand that I like it because I am of the male of the species, or whatever. And we're all over here having tea. Thank-you very much. I do very much like the knitwear, though. Been tempted by one of the sweaters for a while.
For my own part, I would give as much respect to anyone who thinks they can assert ownership of a style of knitwear as I do those who might suggest I shouldn't be wearing a motorcycle jacket (as I am not currently in possession of a motorcycle) or an Irivn, an A2, or a B3 (as I.... well, you get the drift).
The tradtional cricket sweater has always been white/cream... but I don't see why that can't change. The last I gathered, a lot of cricket teams nowadays play in all sorts of colours... I should think that if I were a fan, I'd be interested in a traditional jumper perhaps in my team's 'new' colour... Otherwise, I might just want a nice v-neck knit jumper in a particular colour that I fancied...
Charles Tyrwhitt had them in their collection last year (around the time you posted), so it's certainly plausible.
This is new to me! I can imagine somethingl ike that being worn by some of the older gentlemen who live round my way, a lot of whom hail originally from Asia (promarily Bangladesh) and still wear traditional clothing from that part of the world much of the week, especially if on their way to Mosque. I'd no idea that sort of cut had ever been a thing in the West, though!
