I would be keeping this one a secret if the darned thing was not a 7 1/8. This would be a really cool hat if it were say a 7 1/2 or even a 7 5/8 but nooooo it had to be too small.
Hopefully someone who understands how cool it is will buy it. Maybe even someone in the Lounge. First one to call it gets to bid. LOL

I'm not sure though, even though I've only started collecting vintage hats about 5 months ago, I'm not at all fascinated by straw hats. I guess I'm just more of a real fur felt type-a guy

I know what you mean about being more into felt. The only straw hat I own is one of those woven things you get a Big Lots that I use as a yard hat. However, this hat is something that I could wear on warm days in a more casual way but that is not going to happen because it is too small. :cry:

You may be right since we established that I do not have a good base to draw from. My last straw hat cost me $7. What am I missing that tells you it is just a run of the mill hat? Need to know these things just in case I run across a real deal.
Actually, I wish the hat that went with the box was for sale.

It looks like a Cuenca hat and they are machine blocked and they use harsh chemicals on there hats to bleach them. If you ever got it really wet it will look like a bunch of angel hair pasta. This hat can't be re blocked. Since the hat looks older the straw may be brittle. So you'll need Straw Re nu another expense. If the hat was a Montecristi it wouldn't have these problems. A Montecristi you can re block it and if you wanted you could wash it in soap and water and your hat would be good as new. Here is a Montecristi that most any one could afford.:cool2:
