:eusa_clap:eusa_clapCongratulations, Dr. Doran! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

I'm working on a Masters in IT. Someone asked me if I was planning on going for a Ph.D after I complete the Masters. I asked them "Do you see a gun to my head?"

I have a lot of respect for people like you who do have the chops to go that far. Again, congratulations!

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks Tango. But to be fair, a lot of people who get PhDs are partially doing it because they are not married and do not have children and do not have much ambition to make money and are content staying in graduate school for many, many years. Grad school can be a slacker haven if a person can master the necessary skills.

I didn't consider that. Doran. Everyone I know that has a doctorate did it under the working/married with kids constraints, so that's where my admiration comes from.

Congratulations! It's an even bigger accomplishment... I'm a single mama and I can't even manage to take online classes yet! lol

And what a fascinating field. Although you must bristle constantly at tv and film depictions of various 'ancient' cultures. :D They clearly need better consultants....

The HBO tv series "Rome" was great. I enjoyed Gladiator. I hated "Troy." Hated "Alexander." I'd love to be a consultant to a series about the Spartan Empire under Lysander.

Congratulations! I have a lot of respect for those that get a PhD. I stopped at my master's degree in history, though I had planned to continue and get the PhD. Maybe someday...
