Here is a pair of heavy duty country "trompers" by Frank Brothers. This model is called the
"Viscount" - what I believe is called a Norwegian or Split-toe style. Nice, pebble grain to the substantial leather. Double sole, nailed heel, with the inset steel cleat about 4 o'clock on the right heel and 7 o'clock on the left - right about where your heel naturally strikes - I would say these are from the early 60's at the latest and there is not a great lot of wear to these shoes - a few scuffs and could use a little polish - but the leather is heavy, still supple, and is well stitched together - a stout and elegant walking shoe that would look especially nice with tweeds or corduroys. Marked 9 1/2 DB - outer sole dimensions are: 4 1/2" at widest point, and 12 3/8" - offering to Loungers for a couple of days. $55 shipped in US - International ask for shipping cost.
