Get an old mower with bad piston rings, or dump about 5% motor oil in your mower gas. The blue cloud will keep the mosquitoes away.

(As you can guess, one of my disliked chores is fixing lawn mower engines.)
I'm heading to buy lawn mower oil.
Yesterday, I added way too much oil
made for cars.
White puffs of smoke all over the yard.
I like my neighbor and don't feel right in having all that smoke going to her bedroom window.
She's a lawyer and her office is at home.
She is crazy about Polo and takes care of him when I have to go on
assignments out of town.

I can't stand dusting so I don't do it. Picking up every little piece of something and wiping it off. Drives me up the wall.

Sometimes I'll use a feather duster, although I've been told that doesn't work as well. Well, it's either that or nothing. haha

I'll do anything else when it comes to housework, but dusting? Nope.

I have to wonder if they do this at home as well, and if they have their plumber on speed-dial.

On a tangentially related note, we had to call in a plumber for a stopped up shower drain. What the plumber fished out of the pipes were those 'flushable' wipe things.

My wife's reply was, 'It says 'flushable!' on the package. The plumber and I both looked at her and shook our heads.

Nothing is flushable except toilet paper.

You know those occasional news accounts of a house or apartment that hadn't been entered in decades and is something of a time capsule?

I take all such stories with a large grain of salt. Where's the dust? Has this place not been heated and/or air conditioned? (Temperature extremes are hard on interiors and furnishings.) Had vermin not found this a hospitable place to set up housekeeping, what with none of those harassing humans around?

I believe that such places exist, but I suspect that few are quite exactly as the stories would have us think. Just the funk in the air would visibly collect on every exposed surface over such stretches of time.

Dusting?
It never occurred to me until you mentioned it.
Looking at my desk.
I can dust it which I have hardly ever
done much of in my life.
Or I can put some flower seeds and perhaps something will grow.
But then I would have to water the
flowers which is a chore.
I don't mind watering the yard, in
fact it's very peaceful.
Except for those darn skeeters!

Thanks for the heads up about the flushable wipes. I'd recently bought some, but now will use them as handwipes instead. We did a bathroom remodel a few months ago and ran into drain problems, so I really don't want to go through that mess again.

In another forum about the "Top Ten Bugs You Hate":
"My dad's old Chevron station had the restrooms outside and there would invariably be a cockroach in the urinal when I had to clean. You kill one, their buddies just come in one by one to live there."

Well, of course they do. For them it's free accommodations with indoor plumbing.

Yep, I had my sewer backed up all the way from the street four inches deep on my cellar floor one day thanks to those lovely "flushables." A truly horrific experience. Thanks for nothing, Boys.
Exact thing happened to me in 2015. We are the last house on the corner, and the first to catch the backup. Gross.

Last month, the pipes in the backyard were so old that roots broke through
the walls and began clogging up the passages everywhere in the house.
Luckily, my handyman who does all the annoying chores around the house
was able to dig the huge hole in the right location where the problem was situated.
He also provided the name of a friend (plumber)who came over on his free time to remove and replace the broken pipes. The total costs compared to what a plumbing
company would've charge me would have been very $$$$.
It's good to have folks that appreciate my paintings and I am
happy to return the favor. It always amazes them when they see me
create something from a blank canvas to something that they like very much.

There are multiple lawsuits in motion over the "flushable" wipes. I doubt there will be any recovery but maybe they will quit advertising them as flushable. Not that people won't still flush them. They are an ongoing nightmare for city sewer systems as well as their customers.

I sell a lot on eBay and the one aspect I really hate is shipping which is practically a separate job in of itself because of all the running around I have to do. Especially in regards to shipping materials. It's not unusual for me to have to hit two or three stores because they run out of them so fast!

Seeing an item for sale online which you are interested and the link
directs you to eBay.
But instead of showing the item, you see other items that have
nothing to do with the one you are interested.

Nevertheless you scroll from page to page with the hope that you
might come across the item.
If you do find it, the item is no longer available or
was sold long time ago.
Very cute tactic feebay!

Btw:
Have you ever notice that the item/product that you were looking at
has a tendency of popping up regardless of the fact that you closed the
page but will follow you no matter which forum you have opened!

I've encountered this while doing a little "online window shopping" and have found listings that ended five years before. o_O The photos are almost always gone, but sometimes the listing contains information about the item--dimensions, for example--that's somewhat useful.

The thing that confuses me about evilBay is when doing a search for an item, the page says something like "72 results", then you scroll down and there are only 47 listings. What happened to the other 25 listings?

...Btw: Have you ever notice that the item/product that you were looking at has a tendency of popping up regardless of the fact that you closed the page but will follow you no matter which forum you have opened!
I've looked at an item on evilBay, then gone on Farcebook a day or two later and all of the ads are suddenly featuring whatever I was looking at. I know someone out there is tracking everything we do on the 'Net, but they've gotten so smug that they're not even trying to hide it any more.

The next day? I get that moments after the initial occurrence. I'm good at ignoring all of that stuff, though. ;)

I don't visit Farcebook every day because I find it to be mostly boring, so I'm guessing the same would happen if I logged on immediately; those ad spies are diligent. And, yeah, the "ignore" feature in my brain gets used quite often...much to my wife's dismay. :D
