If anyone wants this Crush on Retro (Jai Leathers) based on the RRL Alston with a deep discount, hit me up. Sleeves are too short. I can’t remember the size right now but can check tomorrow, 38/40.

I just received an "Aliexpress" A-2, Jiashi brand, sort of a V.HILTS replica if there is such thing. I am truly shocked by the good quality of it! Really thick leather, solid zipper, NO BAD ODOUR. It will need some break in and possible shrinkage (my bad, I took one size too big - used to end up with snug stuff from China) But dayum! It beats the last A2 jacket I bought from a reputable shop in Europe, by far!
Cherry on top, I bought it during the 11.11 week, so got it real cheap!

Ugh I said “Jai leathers” in the message above yours but I’m pretty sure it’s Jiashi.

The factory is near Qingdao. It used to be a German Garrison and later town .
It is a confusing place to look at as a German .Like a German city after a Chinese invasion

You look great buddy!
Thanks mate!
I might have to part with the jacket though. The seller while being OK with an exchange for a smaller size has been very reluctant, as I am, to ship the jacket back because of all it'd cost.
So yeah I might put this one up for sale - located in Europe - and get myself a smaller size of the exact same one.
For info this jacket, labeled XXXL fits like a 44-46

Would you excuse me for a second, “like a German city after a Chinese invasion”? That’s the single boldest, most distorted, ridiculous way of whitewashing colonialism.
Would you in the same way, describe Cusco, Peru as “like a Spanish city after an Inca invasion”, or East Berlin as “like a Soviet city after a German invasion”?

Qingdao had literally been a Chinese territory for thousands of years before the German invasion in the late 19th century and the German occupation lasted until the end of WWI, with the defeat of Germany.

While the culture influences still remain, and are probably being enjoyed more in a favorable way today, let’s not sugarcoat the colonial history.

Cheers

I didn't mean it in a offensive way.

I basically mean it is weird to see that a city in China looks basically like my hometowns in Germany while no German people are seen .

It doesn't look slightly influenced. If they kept the architectural style with new buildings you couldn't even tell it is china .
I know it is Chinese territory and rightfully is

On a another note. This city was cherished by the Chinese population for its quality infrastructure and good schools

I'm getting strong 5* vibes when looking at the Crush on Retro leather jacket catalog.

Very cool that they have such a wide array of styles and even several versions of the same famous style.
I mean they have 6(!) J-24 versions :D

Ranging from 190$ to 370$:

Pick your (Chinese chemical reeking photocopied Aliexpress-esque) poison!
I know this store, CRUSH ON RETRO!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️I bought a few jackets from this store and the experience was very, very poor, the packaging was very poor, and the leather had a very strong chemical odor, and there were even open threads in some areas! The zipper does not work! A friend from China told me that he is just a distributor, to be precise, he just buys some products from China and resells them to buyers outside of China and has no authorization whatsoever, a lot of aliexpress chinese sellers are like that, the only merchants who share the manufacturing process are the real factory sellers, I've seen a seller on Instagram, he posted Some cutting and sewing process, he once photographed his factory for me, it's not big but the workers are very skillful! During our video call he showed me the manufacturing process of a J24 jacket, I was amazed to see the manufacturing of the jacket for the first time, the workers are very skilled in sewing, the owner told me that the workers have probably been in the business for over 30 years! He also expressed the difference between a dealer and a factory type seller, if you get to know him well you can totally make a video call and pick out the jacket yourself, which a dealer can't do!

As opposed to Aliexpress selllers, Crush On Retro customer service is nice and exchanges have been easy but anything I got from them smelled either chemical or moldy. I am not gonna buy from them again. Plus, I’ve found the same stuff they sell and better on AE so yeah, I won’t buy from them again. I would love to be able to buy from Jiashi and Cidu, to name a few, directly just like with Red Tornado.

I also noticed their lack of listed measurements compared to other stores at AE, but they were listed for the J-24 style purchased. I caught a good sale at the time, and accepted a bit over 25" length on that one. I must say that I do like the jacket not entirely riding up over my belt when sitting / bending.. :) The front falls fine, just enough over my belt when standing, and just above the rear pocket tops on my jeans...

Here's Tailor Brando's J-24 listing with shown measurements (I have found AE's listed measurements to be accurate in all the jackets purchased so far):

EDIT: I would just send a message to the Tailor Brando store to inquire about measurements if not listed...

Yeah, my thoughts are with you.

I swore I wouldn't buy anything from him, and my disappointment in him is building up, not because of one or two jackets .

But I've had different problems with multiple jackets I've bought, so it's not a matter of probability!

There are a lot of good sellers on aliexpress, but I think one needs to find the people who make the jackets, not the people who sell them.
