While this thread is going "nowhere", it's also been pretty well-behaved. I imagine that "they" are letting it go enough to let some air out or until someone blows it up. I see no issue with it as-is to play around - the same rules apply. If you don't likes it, ignore it. When they're ready, they'll go Three Mile Island on it. lol

And that's why it's best to avoid such discussions entirely on forums such as this. In all the history of the Internet, I would be very much surprised if there was ever a single person whose opinion was swayed one way or another by a debate of this topic on a discussion forum, so why bother to even try? This is why we banned the fur debate from the PR, and that's why we ought to ban the gun debate as well.

I'm surprised there hasn't been an outright ban of gun talk altogether. I'm not at all in favor of banning gun talk, but I know when I started the Show Us Your Guns thread, it nearly didn't make it off because of the possibility that discussion would quickly run into politics.

Then again, I seem to have a stupid propensity for starting threads about the economy, healthcare, politics, guns, and bad toupees. [huh]

I remember the first time I went to the States being mortally offended by the bags of grated cheese on sale in supermarkets. Then I remembered that I come from the country that brought you deep-fried chocolate bars, and realised that folks who live glass houses shouldn't throw stones...
