Not so much a danger to the jackets, but another thing to mention is be prepared to have cat fur everywhere. My moleskin lined jacket gets it the worst. Fur sticks to moleskin like crazy. Gotta have a lint roller handy.

Forgot one thing: Make your home a safe place for your little cutie. Remove heavy items that stand on higher places and which could fall down and hurt your cat when it tries to climb up. Never leave a window tilted, the cat may try to jump up and escape through it and can be jammed in the V and injure it's inner organs. Many cats have died this way. Ask for advice at your pet doctor's, they know the risks and how to avoid them. Don't give it a collar. Those without safety closure can strangle your cat and those with safety closure will get lost in a minute anyway. Pay for a health insurance. It really can pay out in gold one day, when your cat really needs it. Or be prepared to pay whatever the costs. A surgery can easily cost a furtune. Get it chipped and registered.
