Keeps making me think of a steamroller - heh:

Anyway, have just bought a set on the 'Bay on the advice of an especially lovely Lounger, and was wondering whether anyone else has these and how they use them.

All advice and suggestions gratefully received.

have never usd them but have heard they are pretty good and alot more gentle on your hair than hot rollers (I think there most similar to hot rollers) wish I could have been of more help.

I got them on eBay - really good price. I think the seller has several other sets. Give it a google and if you can't find them I'll dig out the seller id for you. Have to rush to work now - late again!

I can only find what seem to be old versions on ebay uk?
The "new" (don't know if it actually is but it's the color I see on Sally Beauty website and the video I posted) white/red version is only sold by US sellers...?

the US version is red the German version is grey. :)

I've put a link to the eBay seller and a review of the curlers in my blog (see sig)

Here's a tip I just figured out how to do:

If you do like to heat up the clip while rolling your curl, the clip has a tendency to fall off the heater if you do it as they say, by letting it sit above the roller then slide down onto the vent when you pick up the roller. I found that if I grab the roller with thumb and index finger, I can put my little finger on the clip and slide it onto place without it going flying into space.

Only took me 4 years to figure it out!

So does anyone have a sample of a hair do they have done with these rollers? Just curious as I saw that sallys sells them here but was wondering if I needed yet another way to curl my oh so straight as a board hair. I was also thinking of getting one of those steam caps I think you set your hair dry and pop it into your microwave and it steams your curls too. Seems like it could be very versatile that way Thanks ladies.

I live in Spain now and my old U.S. set of Caruso rollers cannot be used. I have seen some advertised as
"can be used on foreign currents," but I want to be sure they won't fry up here in Spain. I have dual voltage electronics here that still spark a bit when I plug them in. Hair appliances I understand are a bit different. Caruso rollers are the ONLY thing, outside of sponge rollers, that work on my hair, so I'm eager to get my mitts on a set again. Thanks

I don't have much experience with this, but could you possibly order a travel adaptor to use with them in your outlet?

Also, if you have an old set that is still working, I would try to keep using that as long as possible. I had an old pink & grey set that worked great for 10 years, but I saw the new red & white set & decided to replace mine "just because" only to find that the new set didn't make as much steam & stopped working within a year &, of course, I had thrown my perfectly good, working old set out. :( Luckily, I was able to procure another old set (purple & grey) off of EBay, which has been working great for 4 or 5 years now. :)
