Carhartt abandoned numerical chest sizes!

I just noticed that Carhartt has switched everything to lettered sizes. Less than a year ago, the Artic, Chore, Detroit and some other popular coats were listed in even chest sizes. So if you ever wanted a Carhartt that fit particularly well, the time to buy it is approaching fast.

Just one more example of how mediocre our clothing manufacturers have become IMO.

The solution to this problem is clearly to start standardizing people sizes so that we actually fit the letter sizes.

I hate that, I remember when J C Penneys sold so underwear by even chest and waist size.
Now everything is S M L XL XXL etc.
There was a time when I was an inbetweener, medium was too small and large was too big and to make matters worse there is an standard for S M L XL.
I wear a large for the most part but with some items I have to wear an XL.
Shoe sizes don't mean anything anymore either, I have to try everything on, and forget buying shoes online, either too small or too big.

Well, authentic football jerseys come in numbers. Most expensive stuff does.
Letters are OK for sweatshirts and pajamas, but not top shelf clothing.

Unless the shoes are made in USA. I usually don't have trouble fitting good American brands.

I sure hear Ya'll. It makes a little skinny guy like me so furious when I try on vintage or older military surplus. I can actually find stuff that makes me look really good. Yep, stuff I could never wear on a daily basis.
