I am thinking of buying a Borsalino fedora at the Melegari online shop.

I am amazed by the good prices they offer. For example, a FEDORA QUALITÀ SUPERIORE is priced 250 euro. At the official Borsalino shop in Tokyo you have to pay almost 500 euro for the same hat. So I would be very glad if anybody can tell me how and why they can offer such good prices.

It will be of great help too, if anybody who made a purchase at this on line shop tell me how it went. Were there no trouble in the transaction? Did everything go well?

Hello hina and welcome. I just received my CM hat, The Last Man Standing model. The process went extremely well, good communication and I received the hat when promised, the quality is commensurate with the price and I'm pleased. I'll try to post it soon. The prices for their Borsalino hats do seem quite reasonable and I would have no problem ordering from them again.

Be sure that you call your bank so that it allows international transactions.
My one card dismissed the purchase w/o telling me. Seems to be a problem especially so with the BRICK countries

i have found that that cappelleria melegari does not always have what the website says they have. in other words, they do not always update their stock listing in a timely manner. you might order something, only to receive an email later on to inform you that they do not have it. on the plus side, their shipping within europe is extremely reasonable.

That may depend; i just got an e-mail from them and loosely translated they wanted to know my size so that they could build the fedora for me.

Now I got the impression that the CM is a good dealer.
About the prices, I have not yet received any opinion in this thread but I have checked several online shops in US and Europe. It is not easy to compare the prices as they sell different type of fedora. But I found four prices of Fedora Alessandria, 309$,279Euro,315$ and 250$. (In Japan, it is over 400$).
Now could anyone tell me how much do you have to pay for a fedora Alessandria at the Borsalino shop in Rome or Alessandria.

I called the shop in Piazza del Popolo, Rome, and the woman who answered the phone asked for a specific model number. If you'd give me the model number you are interested in, I'd be happy to call the shop again and get you the price.

Not having a specific model number, I was quoted three different prices (in Euro); 226, 239, and 296...

By the way, my first Borsalino felt hat was purchased at Cappelleria Melegari via e-bay, and they immediately sent out the hat as soon as they received my payment. It's a very serious company...
