Red Ball Jets

I was also a Red Ball Jets kid. Got a new black pair every year in June when school got out. Wore them every day, and by the end of August they had holes in the soles. Wore out a new red baseball cap each summer as well.

they're owned by Nike..... no thanks. New Balance, the current owners of PF Flyer, have an excellent ethical reputation, I gather, which is cool. :)
NB, like Nike, make most of their stuff in China.

PF Flyers in the UK?

I cannot for the life of me find a pair of PF Flyers Center Hi's or Bob Cousy his anywhere in the UK. Lots of lowtop sneakers and wrong versions/colour schemes.

I e-mailed PF Flyers directly and while they did respond, they were completely useless in helping me further. Im looking for these shoes and am tired of going around in circles! Help!:

Bob Cousy Hi in black canvas:

Shame, those are nice. The only place I think I've seen PFs here in London is Schuh, though they tend only to stock the very basic model and in very limited colour options.

I wish they still made 'em with the side patch like these (instead of the modern rendition)...

Mike, what model/era are those? The tread looks kinda like the Grounders.

I finally got a pair of the Grounder Hi 1949s about a month ago. The toe box is much less constricting than that of the Converse (that was why I had to quit wearing the Chucks). I'll post pictures sometime soon.

I have a $5 pair I got at Wal-Mart that look just like Keds Triumphs, but does anyone know any sneakers that look like Keds with support so you can actually play sports in them and not tear some ligament?

Let me guess, Japan only just like their other great archive shoes...

I did manage to squeeze a free pair of Leather Bob Cousy's out of them because they don't sell the canvas version over here!

Nope! Zappos has these and most of the Achival series! I ordered mine this morning and should have them by tomorrow.

These are my PF Flyers, purchased from TKMaxx a couple of years ago, pretty Liberty like lining, one for the ladies. I'd love another pair but never come across any, they are very comfy compared to a converse.

I hope you bought these. Even if they aren't your size, you'll make a ton on resale!

They were a size 5, and about three times the cost of any of the other shoes at the thrift shop. If they had been any bigger I would have snatched them up immediately, but that's a pretty tiny shoe. I ended up getting a '30s overcoat, '50s flannel sport jacket, hat and a pullover dress shirt for less then they were running. I'm going to try for them on discount day. The PF flyers, on the other hand, were only $3.
