According to the collective wisdom of the Lounge (and the Internet in general), the Kurtley of New York hat was produced by "hats in the rough," producer H. McLachlan & Company of Danbury, CT. The brand is not mentioned anywhere I could find, except by those selling the very few available or the couple of Lounge users who bought them in 2011 and 2020. Based on the size tag, it was determined that MacLachlan was the likely manufacturer. This seems accurate.
As for the hat itself, the one I bought is called "The Manhattan" It was in perfect, almost unworn condition and, in the interest of finding out more, I made an offer that was accepted. It is a fairly standard 2" brim and 4" crown. The felt in the brim is stiff, but the crown is quite soft and moldable, taking and holding my pinches easily. All-in-all, I would recommend one if you can find it at a good price. There is also no information available about Segall's Men's Wear of Butler, PA that I or AI could find.
