I believe our taste would shift with time, some people would look cool in MC jacket into their older age,

So true!
some other won't look as cool. only time and yourself can answer that, surely it won't happen overnight, it has to do with other things your general style,

Can't argue with that!
in some way keeping bodyweight on the leaner side would make it easier to look the part in MC jacket.

Oh yes, you're not wrong there!

The verb, "to wear," is an ambiguous verb, it not only means the adornment of garments, it also means the appearance of those garments, which is probably more to the point of this thread's discussion.

Shamelessly hijacking this thread. Okay, so we know that over 80% loungers who voted think it is okay for older men to wear biker jackets.

What about ripped jeans to go with the jacket? Same deal?

My view is that you should be able to wear what you want as long as it makes you feel good. However, I chose the Vanson CHP because it has less "stuff" in the front and it still looks like a badass cross-zip, especially the thick black leather and brass hardware.

By the way, I'm not the slimmest person on the planet, and on my 5th decade.

Depends.. I encounter older men nearly everyday wearing worn jeans with rips, holes, tears but they didn’t come from the store that way. That wear was earned in a manly sort of way.. cowboying, farming, welding, construction, alligator wrestling, leaping over buildings in a single bound and such.
But the difference is obvious in both the jeans and the men.

Hi Everyone
found this article on World Street Journal. Attached are mine Lamb skin Motor jacket from Buck Mason. I am in my 50s. l love it. My wife think it’s too short and should be for young guys though.
Cheers!
An older man should wear whatever the hell he wants.

Just a hint, most of the online content are written created by younger guys and gals under 35. Most are probably still in their 20s, straight out of college kids.

If you've been around the block a few times, do whatever you like with your money and time. Life is too short.

I think so. I’m past my mid-fifties and just got this Aero J106 Ridley from Carrie at Thurston Bros.

Nice one! J106 Ridley? There is a thread dedicated to this pattern.

I have recently discovered ‘denim doctors’ who specialise in jeans repairs. My banged out Pike jeans still look banged out but since surgery have no major holes or rips. The same process has been applied to my duck canvas chinos..same result. Will post up pics some time..very clever repairs that add to existing character.

I retired from riding last year at 71. I have too many leather jackets and just about every time I wear a jacket and am not doing physical work it is a leather jacket. asymmetrical zip jackets make up about 20% of my collection and I wear them about 30% of the time I grab a leather jacket. Leather jackets are just my style along with a fedora, western of Panama hats, and boots mostly cowboy boats when I go out
