Back to the topic at hand, (with few ulterior motives)

A short list of movies about the 20s and 30s that give some insight into the era

Chicago, The Cotton Club, Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon, Some Like It Hot, Top Hat, Dancing In the Dark, The Gay Divorcee, A River Runs Through It.

And Johnny Fedora, a cartoon.

They may not tell the whole truth, but they do a nice job of building some basis for understanding visually..

Yeah, ever see Miller's Crossing? One of the early Coen bro's films. Very good period piece.

Looking forward to the new Clint Eastwood film Changeling coming out this week too.
