Cal-Leather CHP Question

Hello: I have a vintage horsehide with double button snap cuffs. Does anyone know with authority whether this style was only -- or prevalently -- made during certain years? Or, since Cal has always produced bespoke jackets, a particular detail like this is in no way indicative of manufacture date? The jacket has no extant labels. Only my first Cal 30+ years ago had button cuffs and now what will likely be my last has the same. Thanks for your help!

Hi there! I think you just bought that jacket from me on Ebay! I wish I knew exactly who made it, but I can say with relative confidence from the Crown zippers that it's late 40s. The patterning and stitching doesn't match any of the Cals I have (although I'm not intimately familiar with the Star Glove era jackets), but I it's a beautiful jacket in its own right. I only sold it because it's too big for me, (I usually wear a 34). Otherwise I would've put a lot of time and energy into fixing up the lining and rejuvenating the leather. Anyway, if anyone knows more about it I'd love to find out who exactly made it. I'll attach some more pictures for people to reference. In the meantime, I'll be shipping it out ASAP so hopefully it fits you and you can enjoy giving it a second life!
