Only 33%?...come on guys! Lol
I don't really get the 'posing' comments- isn't it all relative to what, where and who you are? If you in any way hang out with military type folk, then you'll likey look out of place in a cafe racer. Where I live- slightly tougher urban area- I'd look out of place in an A-2. If you're younger, again, you'd look out of place in an A-2. And as commented on already, if you have a 'more developed midrift'- a cafe style jacket is not going to exactly do you any favours.
They are two distinctly different looks, and I must admit I am having trouble understanding how someone would narrow down their search to these two options [but that is only my opinion]. I wear a cafe style jacket- but I do ride a bike- albeit only in the Canadian summer- and it does give me some street cred. Afraid that an A-2 would only enhance my 'geezer' age!
I am choosing between those two styles because those are my two favorite jackets that Goodwear makes. There are many nice jacket styles.
I'm a little surprised Cafe Racer is winning so handily. Did all the A-2 fans defect to VLJ?
This one would be my choice. Shades of A2 class, but no problems with difficult pockets or knits. What's not to like?

The Ventura is a busy-looking jacket and I'm not crazy about the fit. I actually like the knits on an A-2.
I'm probably going to go with the A-2, a general utility jacket anybody can wear. Although the Cafe Racer is a cool jacket, it just doesn't belong on my back.
Stick with the Doni - pure class...
The A-2 is cool as hell. It is not a dress jacket - not in my world. It's great for a pub or bar; an air show or coffee shop. It's an every day piece. A cafe racer can be dressier, but still not like a Ventura or half belt. Of course, those things may differ depending where you live and your social/work circles.
The A-2 at one time would fit in everywhere, any time. I don't think that's true today. Just my 2¢ and unless you have the "right" A-2, the stitch nazees smack you.
I believe that you just answered your own question regarding which one to buy: A-2
Now you have to decide which contract :eeek:
It's the Doniger. Got a lot of great feedback from people about it. It's comfortable and form-fitting, which is no small feat. Plus it's elegant and wearable in a wide variety of situations. I could easily wear it with a 40's shirt and tie. It really fits in anywhere. I don't feel like it's cliched, since I never see them.
