C-47 Pilot Ted Stevens

Ya'll may know that Ted Stevens was the longest serving Republican member of the U.S. Senate. What you may not know is that Stevens was also a pilot during WWII, flying the "hump." While I will not permit any comments in this thread about his politics, I think his service deserves to be remembered and praised.

Yeah, I didn't know that either until I heard it on the news last night.

Thanks for setting the record straight on what Senator Stevens flew during the war. Many, including the press conference in Alaska said he was a fighter pilot that flew with the Flying Tigers. Still brave to fly The Hump, and this should not be taken away from him, he served with honer!
