Most hatters seem to classify their hats as "Gus", for their hat under that name. ....

Even HatCo went to calling their Montana slope creased hats the "Gus" after Lonesome Dove came out to catch the publicity.
That crease had been in use way before McMurtry penned Lonesome Dove or even Brokeback Mountain.
You didn't see any hat models change names after that last one was made into a movie, did you?

I had always called that style the 'Tom Horn' after the 1980 Steve McQueen film.

But I have to say... after all this time 'most' of us now call it the 'Gus.'
