Working on the "Saddle" crease

The ridge at the back is much less pronounced (but still there).

I have the profile looking a little better

The perfectionist in me wants a little more dip in the crease but the realist in me says, go with it. I think I have the brim rolled to my liking.

Just waiting for the new hatband.

Last post of the same hat. The hatband arrived. I cut the tassels off as they were too much. I think this hat is ready for the real world.

I liked that Mike at Buckaroo delivered a great hat - with an open crown, flat brim and unattached hatband. That let me take his excellent craftsmanship and turn this hat into my own, one-of-a-kind lid.

So SOME HOW y'all got holt of my collection of Rough Rider hats except for my first one pictured herein pages and pages back to 2013ish. Tony Bruner (Tumwater) made me a Silverbelly with a matching ribbon, I have three from Mike, a bone with copper ribbon, Sahara with thin brown ribbon, and a natural with a brown ribbon.

Picked up my fifth hat from Mike yesterday. Went with a Navy Blue color, 100% beaver. Tried to copy the old Stetson Big Four hat. Came out pretty well I think. Never thought I’d like a blue hat, but another fellow in the lounge posted one a while back, and after seeing it, I thought it might be ok after all.
Many thanks to Mike for his work on this hat, and a shout out to Rocky who helped me tweak it a bit.

Edit, forgot the dimentions, just shy of 6” open crown, a bit over 5” as is. Brim after curling came out just shy of 4”

I just noticed the multi ply ribbon. A great change of pace on the ribbon work.
