I have enjoyed my black RMC Buco J-100 for several years, and I was generally disinclined to purchase a brown cafe racer. I had a preconceived notion that a cafe racer should be black, and a brown cafe racer seemed slightly discordant. However, as time passed and I viewed the incredible brown cafe racers posted here on a regular bases, I warmed up to the concept.
I have long admired Himel's Kensington jackets, but the lack of webbing underneath the sleeve zippers was a deal breaker (without webbing, the zippers will destroy my watches). The cuff area was also too tight for me. I chatted with Dave about these issues and he assured me that he could widen the cuffs and add webbing. Having resolved the two prior obstacles, I went for it.
The brown shinki horsehide, hardware, construction, stitching and other details are all stellar. However, the fit is the overriding attribute that propels this jacket to the top of my list. Dare I say, it fits like a glove.
Many thanks Dave for another winner!
Now, bring on the Winter.
