I think I unzipped this chest pocket zip about 15 times and it broke. Can anyone suggest a repair or replacement in the same style?
Thank you,

Update….i actually fixed it with a small multi tool. Took it off at the zipper…opened the last ball (they can be pryed open) then closed the ball onto the tiny metal piece….then reattached it to the zipper and pinched it tight. It’s safe to say that I won’t be touching this zipper pull at all in the future! Thank you for the replies.

Thank you,

Indeed, it is better not to touch it once again.
Yeah. I emailed the seller from Japan and he said the “breast pocket” was for decoration and should not be used….and to handle the zipper with care.

The repair job is awesome. Thanks for posting I am gonna do the same to mine fixes.

The customer service is awful...

I would still use the chest pocket despite the failing zipper. Which jacket is this, the Hercules or the Speedster or Highwayman?

Thanks. I had no idea the little spheres could be opened by spreading them at their seams.
It’s a Hercules…about 2 months old. I’m going to use the pocket sparingly and pull open from the base of the zipper to avoid stressing the ball and chain part.
Thanks for the comment.

The quality of these repro's doesn't come close to the quality of the originals from the 30s.

There is so much truth to that. But I must say, many zipper problems I have repair for others, have been caused by user mistakes. The new YKK lines are hard to beat for the price. Their #10 and #5 are solid. Problem I often see is the improper zipper size for the garment. Lastly, There are new zipper makers options that excellent choices. However, very few makers do not use them. Let me ask a question, would you purchase a 2k Japanese repro that uses ykk zippers? I would. By the way, YKK owns other zipper labels. Lastly, due to environment regulations, manufacturers can not produce alloys the old fashion way. Our friend from Greece outfits his jackets with top of the line new production zippers. I wish all the so-called "premium" brands can follow his lead.
