not when Brioni can do the whole shebang in good time for a reasonable price.
Brioni pays for the right to supply the suits for Bond, GRATIS. As for time factor, the next Bond film is in pre-production as we speak, so Craig could easily be fitted on the Row. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Um, the best custom-made Italian suits do have high armholes. Kiton, for example.

.

Even Brioni and Kiton RTW jackets have high armholes.

But I agree about 'Titanic'. I saw what you're talking about first hand and it wasn't pretty.

I believe Brosnan was the first Bond to sport an Italian Brioni suit, though why not let the brits dress their top agent?

In Casino Royale you see Bond given a jacket by Vesper. The jacket is tailored and comes in a Brioni bag. In Die another day you see bond unwrapping a Brioni shirt.

What's your take? should Bond wear Saville Row?

Should he wear Hong Kong? does it matter?

The Brits have no pride . Recently Armani had a go at them and called Saville Row as old fashioned as a black and white movie. From what my alterations guy tells me and he does a lot of high fashion in Sydney - Armani fabrics are as old fashioned as black and white movies and you see this in spades when you look at a Boateng or Paul Smith suit.

The last few Bond films have been an orgy of product promotion. Watches, pens, clothes, sunglasses ... you name it.

Actually, I'm okay with Bond movies being loaded with product placement. After all, Ian Fleming would think nothing of dropping a half dozen brand names per page. Bond has always been heavy on brand names. Gordon's gin, Kina Lillet vermouth, Morlands cigarettes, shirts from Turnbull & Asser. . .

Should Bond be wearing Saville Row? Who knows. Brioni makes a good lookin' suit. I don't think there's anybody who can argue that Brosnan looked underdressed. I think the label is less important than the tailoring. Are the suits cut right? Do they fit well? Do they have a certain timeless style to them? I think the current crop of "Bond suits" will age much better than what Roger Moore got stuck with in the seventies, and the off-the-rack stuff that Tim Dalton was wearing in the eighties.

Bottom line, I think there's enough Britishness in most of Brioni's suits to suit 007. Which couldn't be said for BMW; thank the fates he's climbed back into an Aston.

The shirts comment is important; his suits may not be Savile Row, but his shirts are Jermyn St. And what's more, are available as a limited edition:

...I've tried digging around for a price, I think I've found £245 (probably approx $500 after shipping) for the shirt/tie set.

Possibly another point to raise is his choice of watch; product placement aside, would such a (ahem) label snob wear something so "mass market" as an Omega?
