Home-made rounding jack

Well, I couldn't manage to score a rounding jack at an affordable price (for me anyway), so I decided to try and make one out of some poplar boards. Unfortunately I'm no carpenter, and I kind of routed the slots backward, but all in all, it seems like it's going to be a functional tool when finished. Next I need to sand it, finish it, add a longer brass blade guard, some thumb screws to retain the setting, add the blade assembly and measurements and it'll be ready for testing.

Rounding Jacks

Looking at your photos, your woodworking bench looks pretty cool. I'm sure I would trade you one of my rounding jacks for that Bench.

You mean my old desk piled with empty soda cans? You can have it! :D

Nah, I know you have to be referring to someone else :p

I was originally going to try to save up for one of yours Mark, your craftsmanship is amazing. Form and function at its apex. But I'm the impatient type, and it would have taken me two or three paychecks to squirrel away the extra cash to afford even your Hobbyist model. I think when things pick up and I have more cash coming in I'll be able to get one though. It's high on my 'need to get list', along with your high quality pusher-downers, pullers, and foot tollikers.
