I think Brett Maverick (James Garner) also probably had a curled brim, although I can't remember.
Never been a fan of the white trim on a black hat. Seems a bit overmuch to me (maybe it strikes me as too feminine?). I agree with you on hat number one, though.
Or at least, the white trim is flashy. I couldn't wear it unless I was a rhinestone cowboy (anyone who recognizes this reference automatically dates himself).
I have bunch but this late 19th very early 20th Century G. M. Melone is standout.
Yeah I like the one on the left better also.
I've seen this hat in an older, western hat thread before, but I really like this one. It looks like it's very warm to wear, actually. Is that true in your experience? Have you worn it in the snow of winter time?
For my Homburg I will submit this dark blue Hückel Superior.
It would go really well with a turn of the century mens fur overcoat I have (also something I don't get a chance to wear much).
Same basic idea. (Not the furry Stetson in the pic- another early Stetson western)
