For most hobbyists protection by obscurity is probably ok. For Aero maybe a safe would be a good idea in the future? You figure a basic Aero is $1k... limited editions much more.
Hope any inssurance will kick in...imagine all customers with an order already paid....nightmare!For most hobbyists protection by obscurity is probably ok. For Aero maybe a safe would be a good idea in the future? You figure a basic Aero is $1k... limited editions much more.
Very very sorry to hear this. 110 jackets sound way beyond opertunist tea leaves, but where are they going to off load them? They might shift a couple to mates or a few down the pub, but unless they have been stolen to order, they'll have to move them online - eyes peeled!
And the rotten Kharma from wearing one will be a heavier weight to bear than 100oz CXL.Yeah, exactly that. Even if they move them all for just a few $, it's still more than what they paid for 'em. One to a mate, the other to a mate of a mate, a guy that's gonna fence a few down at the market... One hundred jackets will quickly find a new home. Especially quality jackets.
It's wrong when something like this happens to a big soulless corporation, but Aero? They're our people. They're part of our community, they make something special that we hold a particular appreciation for. Companies that provide a niche product like Aero does, or Darcy Clothing, Art Fawcett or John Chapman, etc are made of people who have a passion for craftsmanship and styles either classic or inspired by the past, so we connect with them on a deeper level than just customer and vendor. I enjoy supporting these guys because they provide a product that is in tune with my particular aesthetic, and hell man, it's quality.
So we understandably take this kinda personal and wish the thieving scumbags who did this a quick trip to a lengthy period of incarceration. We'll all be on the lookout and do our part to help make it happen.
Indeed-- a niche market like us. 100+ jackets is a normal collection for some here. Every manHeh, I guess someone really knew what they were after. I don't think that the regular opportunistic burglars would've ever bothered with a hundred something jackets made by a, relatively speaking, obscure brand, that could only be sold to a very niche market.
Thanks for your words of support, we're at a complete loss and feeling sick about the whole thing. We know you're the people who can help us find these, so if you see anything which raises any suspicion please do contact me at holly@aeroleatherclothing.com.
We appreciate our customers loyalty no end, hopefully together we can track them down!
Thanks from my family and all at Aero.
All the best in tracking down the jackets, Holly. So sorry for the distress you're all feeling. These jackets are meant to be shown off and talked about and admired and clearly we're all specification obsessives on FL who'll notice stitching, lining, hardware, material and geometry features if we see it. Specifications might help the Fedora Lounge CSI Division monitor images and classifieds (if police agree). Thanks for such an enjoyable time at the factory last week. Nil desperandum. Clearly there's a lot of love for Aero, NickThanks for your words of support, we're at a complete loss and feeling sick about the whole thing. Not a good idea to speculate. I'm sure the police will be looking at all the possibilities.
