Brand recommendations for used blazers/sport coats?

Hello all!

I'm soon about to begin an internship that requires a business and business casual dress code. My style has always leaned towards Ivy and recently towards a more workwear/Americana style; however, I don't have many blazers or sport coats that I could integrate into an office appropriate style. I have a few beautiful Harris Tweed sport coats and a 80s-90s era green/brown herringbone mohair blazer, but these pieces are far too Fall/Winter focused for what I need, if for no other reason than comfort.

This is all to ask, which brands do you guys recommend for 2nd hand or vintage Ivy/business casual pieces?
(And preferably not J. Press, because their 2nd hand prices are just untenable!)

Thanks and I look forward to the insightful advice,
E.C.

Should say I'm primarily looking for navy blazers! Seersucker would be a classic summer piece but it's so out there that it may be a bit of an office faux pas.

You will get a lot of wear out of a blue blazer, and you can't go wrong with a Brooks Brothers or a Joseph Banks. Both ought to be available on the second hand market. But I don't know for sure as I have never looked for them there.

Are there any Brooks sublabels I should keep an eye out for? They have so many different lines that I'm always a little apprehensive about their 2nd hand stuff. o_O

I can't advise on which labels to look for, but I am also a fan of Brooks Brothers. I have continually owned one of their Blue Blazers since 1978 or so

I ended up swinging a used Brooksease blazer from eBay for around $60 with shipping. Its tremendous, although I'm not sure where the consensus is on shoulder pads, which my blazer has in excess.

Ralph Lauren does some very mice vintage-style stuff, usually I think in the RRL label. They often seem to modernise the trousers, sadly, but the jackets generally look good, which is what you're after...

Seconded on Ralph Lauren. I wear Ralph Lauren Black Label (discontinued line) that I usually buy on eBay, $100-$300 or so. It looks fitted and sleek, very appropriate for office. The Purple Label is more expensive and fits baggier. The RRL line is geared towards a vintage, rugged look.

Suitsupply: some folks hate them, but I love them. I have pure linen, wool/silk/linen and a Super 110 - all excellent fits for a slender torso. They are all cupro lined and have surgeon cuffs. My pure linen jacket from them is my all-time favorite blazer, I think I paid $70 for it on the Bay.

Edit: couldn't find a photo of just the blazer, but here I am in one of their suits with my mom last Easter.

second-hand J Crew for more modern style, but otherwise Scott Fraser collection has some great Americana options
