I appreciate your perspective, that also makes sense.Option 1 for me. It's more important to me that the leather match ends match the suit and though they are lighter than the shoes, they're both still tones of brown.

Too chunky for me, nice though, not into wearing belts across my chestThe Platte Valley Saddle Shop, Kearney NE was founded 83 yrs ago making custom saddles, tack & leather accessories. Today the second generation is in their 70’s & have slowed down to making custom saddles only. Their items have become highly collectible & sought after.
These suspenders are interchangeable in that the mustaches can be removed & replaced with scissor snaps for a more casual look.

I guess you have to be here. I’d love to turn up a vintage pair made by one of the old master saddle makers like G.S. Garcia, C.P. Shipley, Capriola or Hamley..Too chunky for me, nice though, not into wearing belts across my chest
A pair of 3D Leather Co stamped basket weave suspenders with darkened background, made in the USA before they started to source from China. Interchangeable hardware.

Just be aware of how much weight you would be adding to one leg of the suspenders, & how high up on your body you will be carrying that weight. The added weight will cause that suspender leg to constantly slip off the shoulder. Also even with a jacket or cover shirt over top the holster/wallet will not be concealed from sight. Shoulder holsters are concealed deeper on one’s side of the body & supported by extra straps across the back, etc. Money belts better serve the purpose of a wallet.I've seen quite a few options for leather braces on Etsy. I'm somewhat tempted to try them for an ultra-casual option with denim, or I think they would work well with a pair of denim battledress trousers. Rather put me in mind of a shoulder holster a la Steve McQueen in Bullit or so many others. Often wonder whether it might be possible to have someone make me a pair complete with a pouch for the phone... I've looked at a few options that are actually just shoulder holsters designed to take a phone and wallet or hipflask. I did have crazy notions at one point about picking one of those up for travelling with, but probably not the best thing to be glimpsed walking through Heathrow. A pair of basic braces might be a better place to start.

Casually you see belts & suspenders being worn together. That’s because casual men often carry their phone, a multi tool like a Leatherman, & maybe a clip pocketknife on their belt instead of in their pockets. Maybe a small tactical flashlight too.Good point, thanks. Will bear that in mind.
