Hi, Guys. Thanks for all the replies in my last post. I followed most of your suggestions, I was trying to find a used Vanson or Aero motorcycle jacket in my area.

I went to all the leather place in my city. Can't find a used nice Vanson or Aero. I end up got this customs heavy duty motorcycle jacket. It's a cowhide jacket. Almost 15 pounds in size 44. The store owner told me it was the heaviest leather jacket (in size large) they ever seen in the past 30 years. I paid 350 dollar for it.

I am still looking for buying another leather jacket, Probably from Aero or Vanson. I cannot find any used on local store or ebay canada. Do you guys have any recommendations? I am looking at Aero indian ranger or J 106 and Vanson C2 styles.

Or should I get a classic simple jacket like Highwayman or racer? I am going to use it for everyday life. I dont ride motorcycle.

Any comments or suggestions will help me a lot.

Thanks guys!

No clue but if you plan on selling that thing, I'm in. :D
It's a really cool jacket and it does look hefty. That belt is super cool.

As for the style to go for, well, wear whatever you like best. If you like motorcycle jackets, that's what you should be looking into. Cross zipper jackets are very practical for everyday use, even if you don't ride.

It'd help if you'd tell us where are you located? US?

Hi, Monitor, I am living in Vancouver, Canada. 20 miles away from US boarder, 140 miles away from seattle.

Thanks for your comments. Even it does not look hefty, My heart rate went significantly higher when I first time walked with this. After “unload” it, I don’t feel the weight when I wear my mall brand leather jacket.

I have found a lot of people here like highwayman and half belt jacket. It kind pick my interests. I save a small amount savings from my summer break part time jobs. I dont see myself to wear this fat boy everyday. I was thinking to pick one a everyday casual jacket.

Cheers

15 pounds!
That's almost twice as heavy as my heaviest Vanson!
This thing must be a beast, i'm not sure i could deal with that weight.

How does it fit?

If your new jacket fits you well, then I recommend you measure it, have those specs ready, and keep an eye on the sales forum here. The jacket(s) you want will regularly come up. You can then communicate with the sellers on any detail before you buy. You don’t have to go to any physical store in your city and you don’t have to drive 150 miles to Seattle. Lots of great jackets from members here.

I like heavy leather but I doubt I could wear something quite that heavy. I think about 9-10lbs is about my limit, and 6-7 lbs is about ideal for most things. For a motorcycle jacket, you have to balance out mobility and comfort, and it's very possible to be well protected with something that's considerably less heavy than 13.5+ lbs. If you like it and it works for you, that's what matters, of course.

It's just too heavy, anything over 9 lbs would bring certain amount of discomfort.

You people... Limits of how much a leather jacket should weight? That's like buying a Bugatti Chiron and then asking if they could make it go slower. 15 - 20 lbs should be a standard for a leather jacket. Twice as much for a motorcycle jacket!

There was a size 44 vanson in store, it does feel half the weight of this jacket.

The fit is great expect the sleeve is little long.

This jacket has the silmest waist lengths compare to my other same size jacket.

That's a great idea. But I am living in Canada, They will charge 32 % duties on clothings even used..

That's sad...
