bought a hat from Optimo today

well i went to optimo hats to pick up a milan straw that i had cleaned & redone becasue i got caught in a rain storm & it went all soft on me. i mentioned to grahmn that when i dropped it of i saw what i shall call a steel gray felt fedora with a center crease with a front pinch. the thing that caught my eye about it is that it had a dark blue, almost black grosgrain band aroud the usual spot as well as around the brim edge. the hat sold this past sunday unfortunately. however, he is making me another one that is the same style, only with a wind trolley. i put some money down on it before i left. it will be ready on october 6. so my plan is to make a short little holiday to go get it. i will stay downtown for a few days that weekend & just plain go out cavorting around town. i cant wait to get the hat done & show it to everyone on here.

the best way i can descirbe it is a light to medium gray with a little blue under certian lighting conditions...

Nope, it's gray. It is a gunmetal gray, I got it around 4 or 5 years ago, it has a dimensionally cut brim. 2 5/8ths on the sides and 2 3/4ths front and back. It's a very nice fedora, but to be honest for the money you'll get a better grade of felt from Art. I paid $350 for it and it's a rabbit fur felt. Art's is 100% beaver. But don't get me wrong the craftmanship is wonderful.
