Amelie said:the one I am really looking for right now, but that seems completely disapeared, is "1950's hair", the one in the same series as "1940's hairstyles" (which I also want but can't find under 175$, over my budget, but well, I can at least find it!)
that said, I am in desperate need of some very educative books on vintage style, I own a lot of fashion history books, and the book by Aucoin, but I NEED good things on hair, that said, with a lot of illustrations, 'cause I am really bad at hairdo's and as my english is not perfect, i often don't understand written directions :eusa_doh:
does any of you have the perfect solution ?
(and I am more into late 40's and fifties)

The title is It's Vintage, Darling!: how to be a clothes connoisseur, by Christa Weil. It's quite interesting for me, as a newcomer to vintage, because it talks about sewing and tailoring methods, fabrics, shopping for vintage, cleaning vintage clothing, building a useful wardrobe, and a few other things, although it doesn't focus on any particular period.
I already knew some of the things the book covers, and some were great to learn, so I thought I'd mention it here.
