Sorry I keep throwing on the questions

I need to replace the buttons on my tan blazer, they match it almost exactly and I need to spice it up a bit.
Any suggestions for that? I don't wanna go gold because I think that is more of a blue blazer thing.

I had been passing a thrift store in town every morning and noticing a mannequin in the front window window wearing this blazer.

After an afternoon of shopping on Friday I dropped into the store to try it on, but the store was very busy, so I climbed into the window to undress the Dummy myself, , who was very unhelpful! it was a struggle, ( glad in wasn't a suit) and I do admit I was afraid of the whole window display and myself falling through the glass window onto the footpath!!

I tried it on and it fits perfectly, and quite lightweight, so I was guessing, gabardine and at $22.00 a bargain! even more so when the sales lady informed me everything was 50% off today! so it was only $11.00!!

I was even happier when I got it home and discovered it was pure wool!

I'll try to post pics when I can but I've made that promise on a lot of threads, I don't have a camera and always forget to borrow one.

I like the london one spitfire, I wouldn't put it on mine because I'm not british and neither is the blazer but still, very snazzy.

I agree that contrasting buttons are part of the traditional blazer look. When I see one with horn or plastic buttons, I always suspect it's part of a broken-up suit. I wear black shoes with Navy, Black or Gray Blazers - brown shoes with tan, green or other earth tones. I will wear brown shoes with a Navy blazer with I wear tan twill slacks.

My observation about the number of buttons is that about 10 years ago, younger men started wearing 3+ button blazers. Guys my age (now 58) tend to like the two-button look we grew up with. More buttons are not flattering to me, as I've gained a bit in the waist. I find the multi-button looks favor gents who are more slender.

Myself, I'm staying with the two-button look.
