I'm assuming that description alone has heads shaking, but I got it as a gift and by gumption I'm wearing it. :p

3 button, low armhole. :(

What pants go with black leather?

Grey or black slacks? Khakis? (bear with me) Jeans?

how bout shirts?

I have a vague "they should be dark and probably shiney" idea in my head.

Anyone wear this sort of thing?

No head shaking. i myself have been looking for a leather double breasted. They look pretty cool. I think of it as more of an outdoor item rather than business. Mixing and matching... hmmm. Well white dress shirt will always work well. Charcoal trousers and perhaps a sweater under the jacket.

The only regular wearer for an example I can think of is the cop on CSI:NY, which I don't really watch. I have a vague idea of dark grey slacks.

Unfortunately it is just barely big enough in the chest for me it was a regift from my brother-in-law (NYC folk, they can wear black leather).

I don't think I can fit a sweater under it without looking sausage-y. And I'm pretty sure the chances of letting out leather are slim-none.

I was just thinking. White shirts I have, but it wasn't that many years ago I donated my skinny black leather tie to Goodwill.

That tie would have been aces. Or not. [huh]

I agree with the above suggestions, with a medium grey or dark grey slacks, with a cuff. I think you might be able to get by with something like a cashmere blend V neck sweater, without it being bulky underneath. In my opinion, if you wear a grey slacks, with a black leather coat, a plain white shirt, might give it too much of a contrast with a leather jacket. Since this is more of a casual look, if it were me, I think I might go for a lighter shade of grey button down shirt with a black tie, the tie could either be solid color or with a design to bring out the color of your jacket and slacks.

I don't think you would want to go completely all black, ie.. black slacks, black shirt, black tie, and black leather jacket, that would be too much.

Something else, would be to just wear the jacket without a tie, and an open collar.

and yes a black leather jacket would go with a pair of jeans, but don't go with the "new" denim. You would want something more in the faded jeans look, but heaven forebid, do not go with the raggedy ones. With a black jacket and jeans you would be able to comepletely change your personality by just adding a western style hat, which would go with that. You do not necessarily have to have a western cut jacket to wear a western style hat.

Something else that always goes with a leather jacket would be a turtle neck sweater. Again, a white turtle neck sweater though would be too much of a clash with a black leather coat, in my opinion. I'm trying to think of a color that would go well.

I've got many black leather jackets in different styles. I usually wear a dark color sweater, turtleneck or sweatshirt with them. I've got black, dark red, charcoal and even dark navy blue. I never go with shirts with black leather jackets. A lighter color sweater underneath doesn't look good, unless you go for very casual and wear just a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. The good thing about black leather jacket is that you can wear black leather shoes with it (more common), and a black leather belt with jeans or black trousers.
