I agree, it falls off the shoulders a little for my taste, but each to their own. As long as you feel comfortable with it, that's all that counts. I guess the cult of the close fit doesn't appeal to everyone. :D[huh]

For me, it has a sense of the type of later fifties jackets that were more a boxy cut - similar to a Highwayman, but with a half-belt back. On this style of jacket I prefer a neater fit myself, but still that's to personal taste. The hide looks superb; I do love goatskin. If all Johnson's products are on par with the D pocket jacket I have, they could be a serious contender in this market. They really do need better web presence and marketing, though!

The jacket is a bit looser as I'm just wearing a t-shirt, but I worked this out with Alan.

a size 40 is far too tight for me, as where a 42 was slightly too big, so this is a 42 taken in at the sides about an inch.

The shoulders were left so that in colder weather I can wear a sweater or fleece underneath without it being too tight.

Personally I don't mind the looser fit with just a t-shirt, in fact I'm looking forward to seeing it start to conform and drape to my body.

Cheers all :)

The bison leather they have is seemingly indestructable. I gave it the sample the fingernail test and pulled it as hard as I could and nothing seemed to effect it.

Very long and loose - almost a 1990's look. Don't mind that myself. As I said months back. It's rare to be totally happy with your first. This is almost your third jacket - a rebuild of your second isn't it? It always strikes me that it can take 3 or 4 jackets before a person is totally satisfied. For some of us it's more.

Unless you originally envisioned a fitted look, I think it looks fine. There's something alluring about having a jacket you can layer in comfortably.

It's certainly not over-sized, which isn't at all the same thing as loose. Photos may not give an accurate representation, but when wearing with just a t-shirt it doesn't "feel" too lose, and when worn with a sweater fits perfectly without being too snug.

Fit was worked out perfectly with Alan after being sent a test jacket, so no worries there either in the process or result.

Technically it's my 3rd, yeah. First was a mall jacket made of lamb skin I wore for almost 10 years, and the 2nd I never actually wore as fit was too small. It was sent straight back, so I don't really count it.

Of course, it's my first real leather jacket.

I don't think I'd spend any more than $300 on a future leather jacket, and don't think I would be looking to get leather jackets of different styles...more interested in lighter jackets, such as the Gustin Chore jackets. At least for the next few years, that may change later on.

We all said that once upon a time.... ;)
