Hey!
Been browsing this forum for a couple of days now, and I thought this might be a good place to share some photographs of our home/collection.
Most of the furniture we purchased from auction and fairs, and a lot of the smaller bits and pieces have been gifts from family & friends over the years...
1940s oak writing desk
CC41 single wardrobe & ARP whistle
Victorian oak drop leaf dining table. The canister on the left has a WW2 gas mask inside and was a gift from a friend. Not sure what it is, might be Polish. The motorcycle in the background is a 1954 BSA Bantam D1 which I ride a lot in the warmer months. She's inside for the winter.
This one's an interesting one... I was given this by a lady that lives in North Norfolk. It belonged to her brother in law just after the 2nd world war. It actually has his birth certificate attached inside.
1940s tiered chest of drawers. On top is a French knife from the second world war with original sheath.
German taxidermy, we call him Chris.
ARP helmet
French taxidermy. Behind it are original schematics for what I believe is a martini rifle which I'm waiting to frame.
A selection of original (apart from top left) vintage postcards and photographs
Bits and bobs. The photograph is my Grandfather standing next to a downed German plane in France during the second world war. The wooden knife is hand carved and dated 1944. There's also an old engineers lamp and a couple of magnifying glass, one of which is from the 17th century.
